Yirka De Brucker is a Belgian curator and art advisor based in Antwerp. Her work moves between exhibition-making, artistic coordination, collection guidance, research, writing, and public mediation. Growing up close to contemporary art shaped her eye early on: her family history is connected to Antwerp’s post-war art scene, including G58 at the Hessenhuis. She grew up close to the exhibition space context of LLS387 where she first encountered how artists, audiences, collectors, and institutions meet. She studied Art Sciences at Ghent University and followed film theory in Paris, developing an approach that combines art-historical depth with practical production and a strong sensitivity to context. Across galleries, museums, film festivals, research projects, and cultural events, she has worked on exhibitions, programmes, guided visits, artist support, and public communication. Her practice is driven by the encounter between artwork and its audience, between artists and institutions, and between precise organisation and the artistic form of a project. As an art advisor she helpt to give form to visions and collections.
